CHANGES FOR 2013: - None. With a redesigned 2014 Transit Connect waiting in the wings, this little workhorse wagon moves into 2013 with no notable changes. It's a versatile little truck that can be kitted out to carry five people, or seat two and haul up to 1,600 lbs (727 kg). It owes its car-like width to its European heritage; a high roof creates a cargo area that's larger than the Transit Connect's size suggests. This is not an exciting vehicle in the conventional sense; rather, it's built to excite delivery drivers and fleet operators, who like this truck's combination of versatility and lower operating costs. The Transit Connect comes as a two-seat cargo van or five-passenger wagon. It uses a 2.0-litre Duratec four-cylinder engine with four-speed automatic transmission. Features on the base Cargo 110 A van include 15-inch steel wheels, air conditioning, dual sliding cargo doors with no glass, dual rear cargo doors with no glass, six-way driver and four-way passenger manual seat adjustment, driver’s armrest, full width overhead storage shelf, CD stereo with auxiliary input, cruise control, full-length cloth headliner, tilt and telescopic steering wheel, power locks with keyless entry, power front windows, vinyl flooring, and tire pressure monitoring system. The Cargo 210A van adds dual rear cargo doors with glass, rear defroster, rear wipers and heated power mirrors. The XLT Wagon adds second-row 60/40 flip-and-fold split bench seat, sliding doors with privacy glass, carpeted front area, rear vinyl floor, engine block heater, reverse parking aid, and electronic stability control. The XLT Premium adds swing-out rear windows, two extra speakers, rear wheelhouse cover and upper pillar trim.
